Band Bio

Silence The Sky hails from Greensboro, NC. The Initial concept for Silence The Sky was formed in the Summer of 2005. Derek and Tim met through an ad in the musician section of the local entertainment paper. Several different players were with the band in its earliest incarnation. Ben was asked to join, and immediately added a much needed flavor to the ever growing sound of the band.

In the Summer of 2006 Silence The Sky won the battle of the bands at Ziggys in Winston Salem, NC. The battle of the bands were the first two shows that were played. Greg joined the band in early 2007, and brought a great new energy to the songs. After the departure of our first singer, Jay was asked to join the band. Casey joined less then a week later and the current and permanent lineup of the band was complete.

With the members in place we went on to share the stage with such acts as Mofro, Perpetual Groove, Yo Mamas Big Fat Booty Band, The Pranksters, and many more. Silence The Sky was fortunate to have played the final two Thanksgatherings at Ziggys in Winston Salem, NC. Tim, Derek, Ben, Greg, Jay, and Casey continue to write new material and play shows across the region, loving what they do, and hoping you will join them in their pursuit of musical bliss.
